Neubility announces urban robot delivery service in collaboration with YOGIYO
The autonomous driving robot 'Neubie' began deliveries in Songdo, Incheon, from August and is expected to expand to Seoul by the end of the year.
With operational expertise in 15 regions nationwide and overseas, it is expected to enhance delivery competitiveness for YOGIYO.
By offering insurance coverage and deploying customer service personnel, the service ensures safety and responsibility.
June 21, 2024 – Neubility, an autonomous delivery robot service company, announced on the 21st that it is collaborating with the delivery app YOGIYO to launch a robot delivery service in urban areas.
As a result, customers who order food through the YOGIYO app will soon see Neubility's autonomous robot, ‘Neubie,’ making deliveries. The two companies will begin the robot delivery service in Songdo, Incheon, from August and plan to expand the service to residential areas and university districts in Seoul by the end of this year.
Through this collaboration, Neubility aims to build a more stable and efficient urban robot delivery system, laying the groundwork for innovation in the delivery industry.
Neubility currently operates the largest number of outdoor autonomous robots in South Korea and has accumulated expertise and know-how. Leveraging experience gained from operations in 15 regions across South Korea, as well as the United States and Saudi Arabia, Neubility plans to operate and expand the robot delivery service in partnership with YOGIYO.
Developed with its own technology, ‘Neubie’ passed rigorous evaluations across 16 categories, including speed control, emergency stop, obstacle detection, crosswalk navigation, and compliance with operating areas, becoming the first outdoor mobile robot in Korea to receive operational safety certification. As a result, ‘Neubie’ has been granted the same legal status as pedestrians and can now operate on sidewalks nationwide.
Neubility is also ensuring the safety and reliability of its robot delivery service. The company has joined the Korea Robot Industry Association’s outdoor mobile robot liability insurance to quickly compensate for damages in the event of an accident. Additionally, it has deployed its own customer service staff and on-site personnel to manage robot operations, as well as to respond and take action swiftly in case of emergencies.
Sangmin Lee, CEO of Neubility, stated, “Through our collaboration with YOGIYO, we are one step closer to fulfilling Neubility’s mission of providing robot services that will revolutionize daily life. Based on our advanced technology and operational know-how, we are fully prepared to deliver a positive experience to urban customers.”
Subaek Jang, CTO of YOGIYO, expressed, “We are very excited to start the robot delivery service with Neubility, a company with extensive experience both domestically and globally, as it will become a key service in the future delivery industry. We will work closely together to provide our YOGIYO customers with an enjoyable and seamless ordering experience through stable operations.”
Meanwhile, the technology of ‘Neubie’ attracted attention in June at Computex 2024, where it was featured in NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote address. Huang introduced the robots, including ‘Neubie,’ as “the next wave of AI and the future of robotics.”
